Subject Intent
- To increase pupils’ prospects by:
Providing pupils the opportunity to expresses themselves creatively, exploring and experimenting with techniques using their imagination and the world around them.
- Building foundations for a love of life, a love of learning and a love of one another
- To produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences.
- To become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques
- To evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design
- To know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
- To develop a range of ways to express and share individual creativity.
- To develop a natural sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them.
- To develop critical abilities and understanding of cultural heritages through studying a range of male and female artists and designers throughout history.
- To develop understanding of the visual language of art and design.
